On Thursday night, Christmas Eve, William Guest of the Grammy Award winning Gladys Knight and the Pips died from congestive heart failure in Detroit. Guest’s sister-in-law, Dhyana Ziegler, confirmed his death in a report by the Associated Press.
Guest was an original member of the group until the members disbanded in 1989. In 2003, Guest and his sister-in-law released his autobiography, “Midnight Train from Georgia: A Pip’s Journey“, a book Ziegler and his daughter Monique say will keep his legacy alive.
As a member of such an iconic group, William Guest’s legacy and memory will live on through the music so many have grown up listening to.
