Remy Ma held nothing back in shETHER, the response to Nikki Minaj’s contribution to both Jason Derulo and Gucci Mane’s latest tracks.
Just three days ago, the Barbie Girl was featured on Derulo’s Swalla. It was there she laid out what might have been the first diss:
“I gave these bitches two years, now your time’s up,” and “Bless her heart, she throwin’ shots, but every line sucks.”
Now, some have speculated this was in response to Remy Ma‘s verse on the hit “All the way up” when the Bronx-native rapped “One of these bitches, two of these bitches gotta die / Three of these bitches, four of these bitches gon’ cry / Five of these bitches poppin’ pills, they high.” Many listeners pointed towards Nikki’s Pills n’ Potions as the…inspiration for the line. But, Remy Ma made it clear she wasn’t coming for Nikki Minaj. Well, looks like someone missed the memo because besides the line on Derulo’s Swalla, she ALSO appeared on Gucci Man’s Making Love. This is where things got a little clearer.
Go against Nicki, it’s gon’ cost ya/ ‘Cause now it’s fuck ya, intercourse ya / I rep Queens where they listen to a bunch of Nas / I’m a yes and these bitches is a bunch of nahs / Trying to win a gunfight with a bunch of knives / I win, get off the bench and give a bunch of fives / I don’t see her / Bitch, I’m ‘The Greatest’, no Kendrick, and no Sia.
And there you go folks. That is all Remy Ma needed to let loose. In a recent interview with Hot 97, Remy Ma let everyone know that she doesn’t do undercover shade. If there’s a beef, if she’s got something to say, it will be clear as day – as in she will come for you directly.
And that is what she did. OH did she come for the Black Barbie in the worse way when Remy dropped shETHER just 48 hours after the Minaj tracks. The 7-minute long track on top of Nas’s Ether (an obvious nod to Nikki’s name drop) has the internet going absolutely crazy. Listen to the full track below:
